The Alpha 10 contains your dog list and shows dog distance and direction, mark your waypoint, setup, and correction. That's basically it. It'll pair with an existing Alpha 100/200/200i or Astro 430. It works with TT15 big or mini and T5 big or mini. Each 'dog' gets one correction setting (that means you select either to shock or to just tone or vibrate).
Menu button on the right, power and correction buttons on the left of the handheld. Distance is determined by the collar connected (up to 9 miles with a Big TT15 or Big T5 or up to 4 miles with a Mini TT 15 or Mini T5).
The Alpha 10 is SMALL! How small is it? My wife is 5'4" tall and it fits in the palm of her hand! See the comparison pics between it and the Astro 320 and Alpha 100. Display size is 1.8" diagonal.
The Alpha 10 has no extra frills - but, you still get all the thrill of Garmin Technology and GPS Tracking! And, as a huge bonus package: it connects to your Garmin smartwatch, Garmin DriveTrack 71, and to your phone using the Garmin Explore App. But, you won't find all kinds of apps like hunt/fish calendars, man overboard, complicated training pages, or anything else. It's easy. It's slim. It packs a punch...at a great price and it'll track your dogs - up to 20 connected devices (dogs or other handhelds)!
The Alpha 10 IS NOT touch-screen. You use the toggle switch in upper right hand corner to move around and select items (like the type of stim/tone/vibration).
